HAI PHONG OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCES THE PRIME MINISTER’S DECISIONS ON THE ECONOMIC ZONE AND LAUNCHES THE HAI PHONG FREE TRADE ZONE

On July 30, 2026, the People’s Committee of Hai Phong City solemnly organized a conference to announce the Prime Minister’s Decisions on the Southern Hai Phong Coastal Economic Zone and officially launch the Hai Phong Free Trade Zone, under the highly meaningful theme: “Creating New Growth Spaces”. This historic event not only marks a major turning point in the development of the entire city but also directly brings a unique “dual advantage” to CEOZONE Hai Phong Industrial Park (Tien Lang Airport Industrial Park – Zone B).

Hai Phong Creates New Growth Spaces with a Pair of “Super Special Zones”

At the conference, the People’s Committee of Hai Phong City officially announced important Decisions of the Prime Minister that will shape the economic future of the port city:

• General Planning for the Southern Hai Phong Coastal Economic Zone through 2050 (Decision No. 431/QD-TTg dated March 14, 2026): The mega-project covers approximately 20,000 hectares and is oriented to become the city’s key economic growth engine and the marine economic center of the Red River Delta. The economic zone is being developed under a green growth model, with a focus on high-tech industries, modern urban areas, seaports, and logistics services.
• Launch of the Hai Phong Free Trade Zone: A core component of the planning, covering an area of 6,292 hectares. It is oriented to become a leading center for manufacturing, trade, logistics, and innovation, with priority given to attracting high-tech sectors such as semiconductors, information technology, and automation. Alongside this is Nam Do Son Port — a green, smart, and tax-free port that will serve as an important hub for international trade.

The establishment of these two super special zones is expected to generate high-quality FDI inflows and strongly attract multinational corporations as well as strategic global investors to Hai Phong.
